Zoom - In or Out?

I’m always happy to coach clients either in person, on Zoom, or on the phone.

Since the COVID lockdowns, counsellors, therapists and a host of others have delivered their services online and a lot of research has confirmed it’s generally effective, though some studies have been more critical. One such critical study was titled ‘Zoom In to Zoom Out’!

l know for me to be effective in helping you make the changes you want, I must work with you to develop a trusting and supportive relationship based on a positive and personal connection. This is sometimes termed a ‘resonant relationship’ and it’s similar to the ‘therapeutic relationship’ and ‘unconditional positive regard’ which counsellors and therapists widely agree is a vital pre-requisite to helping people change.

I love the convenience of Zoom and phone coaching but believe it’s best to establish our positive relationship from the beginning in person (whenever possible) at least for the first couple of sessions. Then, if it’s more convenient for you we can move on to meetings online or on the phone.
